Frequently Asked Questions

The Beverly Dental Center team is always happy to address our patients’ questions and concerns so that they feel fully confident about choosing us as their oral healthcare home. Below, we’ve compiled a list of the most common FAQs we receive and their answers so that this information can be found much more easily. If your question isn’t addressed, please contact us directly here in Carrollton, TX.

Do you see children?

Yes! We enjoy seeing whole families, including the youngest members. Dr. Oh has lots of experience with caring for children’s dental needs gently and compassionately, and he will be sure to help your son or daughter get the best start possible towards a healthier, happier smile.

How often should I be visiting the dentist’s office?

In most cases, our team recommends that children and adults attend two regular checkups and professional cleanings each calendar year, or once per every six months. This gives us the ability to check in with your smile at regular intervals and recognize any potential changes or concerns as soon as they develop.

Why are dental implants the best way to replace missing teeth?

There are several reasons:

  • Dental implants replicate the tooth’s natural root, which helps to stimulate the jawbone and maintain a higher level of overall oral health.
  • Once completed, dental implants look and feel virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth.
  • Implant-retained teeth are highly durable and functional.
  • Dental implants are extremely long-lasting. Many “teeth” restored with implants last for multiple decades or even the rest of the patient’s life.

Of course, we also understand dental implants may not be right for every patient. Our dentists will be sure to review your options with you in full detail during an initial consultation.

Can I receive dental implants if I’ve lost a lot of my natural teeth?

Most likely! Implant-retained dentures are available for replacing a large number of missing teeth all at once with the help of implants, as well as All-On-4. Like the name implies, All-On-4 replicates an entire arch of natural teeth and is anchored in place over just four placed dental implants.

I need a new dental crown. Will it look unnatural?

Not at all. Beverly Dental Center only uses high-quality E-max ceramics and zirconia for restorative solutions like dental crowns, onlays, inlays, and crowns – no silver or gold. These materials are exceedingly lifelike and confidently beautiful, helping patients get back to living their life to the fullest in record time.

My gums are bleeding when I brush and floss. Should I be worried?

Like with any other part of the body, unexpected bleeding is rarely a good sign. The most likely explanation is that you’re experiencing an early stage of gum (periodontal) disease, which needs to be eradicated as soon as possible to protect the healthy jawbone tissue and teeth. Please contact us if you experience this symptom on a regular basis so that we can provide the proper oral therapy.

Do you take dental insurance?

Absolutely! We are in-network with virtually every major PPO dental insurance. If you don’t currently have insurance, alternatives like our in-house savings plan and CareCredit financing are also available to make your cost of care much more manageable. Please visit our new patients page for more information.
